Rowupdating event of grid view in asp net bai ling dating chris isaak

I have a break on the Sub statement for the Row Updating handler ... The Edit and Cancel buttons fire the Row Command event, however, the Update button does not. No breakpoint was triggered when I hit the Update button. I truly appreciate all the suggestions you've given. This is becoming so frustrating it's getting almost comical. Breakpoints were triggered for the Row Editing and Row Command. I would recommend trying this out and starting a new thread in the .NET Forum so that other people can learn from the experience too. -Frinny You may need to turn off validation even if you are not validating anything. Here you specify the Command Name for the respective linkbuttons which fires the Row_Editing event for "Edit" command, Row_Updating event for "Update" command and Row_Cancelling event for "Cancel" command. Acording to my experiences of the problem, I think you can solve the problem by trying these steps: 1) Since you've added a reqieured Validator in the Edit Template, have you confirmed that your Update Button's Command Name is "Update"?Have you re-written your Grid View_Row Updating event?Hi, I have a gridview with some template columns and have set Autogenereate Edit Columns="True". When I hit Edit, the textboxes appear and I am able to edit my values. In the Row Editing function, the edit textboxes appear and I can get the "old" values Then the page renders, I edit the textboxes and hit Update.

So, the Row Update event didn't fire because there was no indication of a Row Update existing.
