With a question like this I try to put myself in that persons shoes.How would I feel if I committed a crime and was shunned for it the rest of my life, no work, no love, etc.I imagine that would be a death sentence in and of itself.I'm certain there are many people who've gone through a troubled period in their lives and ended up being convicted and sent to prison but have somehow managed to get their lives back on track and left their past behind them.For myself I think it would depend on what the crime was.
